WHAT IS
“ANSWER THE CALL”?
And How Does This Coaching Program Work?
This program is a direct path to becoming a professional screenwriter through 1:1 support from a working screenwriter, guiding you from a new idea to a final draft and release strategy, through a simple, comprehensive screenplay development and outreach system alongside other talented emerging writers, just like you.
If Accepted Into The Program, You Will Receive:
At least one coaching video call with BE every week for 5 months. You will have BE’s complete and undivided attention as he walks you through his process and gives you exactly the support you need, as you need it. The pace is set by you with weekly goals suggested by Brooks for optimal speed. After 5 months, writers get several drafts into their screenplay.

THE ELEMENTS LISTED BELOW YOU GET - FOR LIFE.At least 3 Group Coaching Calls per month. The program hosts 6-9 calls per month, and you’re welcome to join any or all of them. Times of calls are scheduled so that everybody in the community is available to make a minimum of 3. Guest speakers from the industry occasionally join the calls too.
GROUP CALLS: You choose if you’d like to be coached or listen. There are six15-minute segments allotted for each 90-minute call. Sometimes we go longer. To participate, simply reserve a segment in your name to be sure you get at least 3 sessions of group support.
GUEST SPEAKERS: When industry pros visit, Brooks interviews the guest with questions from the writers. We also do exercises with the guests like “speed pitching” to practice in a safe space and get invaluable feedback on their screenplay concept.
Access to a robust ongoing community conversation on the SLACK app. Over a dozen channels are devoted to the exchange of information on specific subjects. Anyone can post and interact with anyone else and you are encouraged to partner up or to form groups within the program to create “accountability partners” who will help you continually move forward.
The SLACK channel subjects include member profiles, requests for feedback, scripts to read, films and TV shows to watch, craft tips, industry news, reviews, and many more relevant subjects.
As a member of the program, you have opportunities to connect with BE’s professional contacts within the industry. BE has directly facilitated members getting writing assignments, representation and attachments to projects. This cannot be forced and there are never guarantees, but If BE believes your material might be a good match for his colleagues, he is THRILLED to try “connecting the dots” for a win-win deal. When you succeed, our program succeeds, so he pulls out all the stops for his writers.
